Lifeguard CertificationAquatic ClassesThis will be a blended course in becoming a lifeguard. You will need to do the online work through the Red Cross website first. (once you've registered we will send you the links) You must be 16 years old or 15 with parent approval to become a lifeguard. Your first day you will need to pass the prerequisites in becoming a lifeguard- there are 3 requirements. This will be done first thing then continue into the classroom. 1. Swim 300 yards without stopping using both the front crawl (freestyle stroke) and the breaststroke (we just need to see that you can do both strokes- so a minimum 25 yards on both and swim the remaining using either or both of those strokes (no time limit to finish, so taking your time to finish is alright) 2. Tread water without using your hands for 2 minutes. 3. Swim 20 yards, free dive to bottom of pool and retrieve a 7-10 pound brick and back stroke back to shallow end of pool with brick on your chest. This has to be done within 2 minutes. Please add a current email address in your registration. This will be how you will get your Red Cross links sent to you. Payments are not due until after you pass the prerequisite requirements. The cost of the class is $300.Spring/Summer 2026 -
