By teaching a class, you’ll have the opportunity to inspire youth and adults, connect with community members, and showcase your expertise in a supportive and enthusiastic learning environment. We look for instructors who are not only knowledgeable, but who bring professionalism and genuine excitement to their subject. If your application is accepted, you’ll be invited to meet with our program coordinator for a class-planning session to help set you up for success. Please note that a criminal background check through ISD #94 is required for all instructors. Creative KidsECFE | ClassesYour creative kid is learning skills such as naming colors, showing affection and hopping on one foot. In our Creative Kids class we help your child develop these and many other skills through play, song, stories and movement. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) recognizes that parents are their child’s first and most important teachers. ECFE offers parents hands-on learning experiences and parenting discussions specific to their child's age that will help build the foundation for a lifetime of learning. What happens in an ECFE class? 1. Parent and child interaction time: A licensed early childhood teacher and assistant provide developmentally appropriate activities, songs and stories for parents and children to enjoy together. 2. Child time: A time devoted to learning through play and activities with licensed teachers and assistants while parents participate in a parent discussion time in a separate room. 3. Parent Time: Parents or caregivers participate in a discussion led by a licensed parent educator. Joys and challenges of parenting are shared and topic discussions are designed to address the developmental needs of each group. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes meet once a week. Together, parents and children participate in activities and experiences that foster children’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills. ECFE teachers use the Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework and Early Childhood Indicators of Progress: Minnesota’s Early Learning Standards provided through the Minnesota Department of Education. Drivers Education - Classroom and Behind The Wheel InstructionDrivers EducationCloquet Community Education offers Driver’s Education for students in Cloquet (including CAAEP) and Fond du Lac only. We check to make sure students go to these schools. If you are open enrolled, you must call the Community Education office at 879-1261 to sign up. Get ready to learn how to drive! This fun class has 30 hours of classroom learning. You will learn the rules of the road and how to drive safely. You will also get 6 hours of driving practice with an instructor. You must come to all classes. You need to finish all 30 hours before you can take your permit test. After you finish the class, you will be matched with a driving instructor. You will also get your blue E-card so you can take your permit test. Join us to start learning how to drive safely and feel confident on the road! Cloquet Community Education has a fully online class you can take from home! This class is made for students in Minnesota. It uses fun and helpful ways to teach so students stay interested while learning. What’s great about this class: You can start anytime and work at your own speed You can do up to 3 hours each day Lessons are ready whenever you want (on-demand) Teachers are licensed in Minnesota and teach in a live-style class There is not a lot of reading Every student gets a free study guide You can turn on captions to read along There are hands-on activities to help you learn, and parents can join too You can get help from a teacher anytime (24/7) You have 6 months to finish the class The class is made just for Minnesota students by Minnesota driving teachers The program is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety After you finish the online class, you will do driving lessons with a licensed Cloquet instructor. Who can sign up: Only students from Cloquet (including CAAEP) and Fond du Lac can join The school will check to make sure you are enrolled If you are open enrolled, you must call the office to sign up When you sign up: Use the student’s full legal name (first, middle, last) Use the student’s birth date exactly as it is on their birth certificate Important things to know: Students must be at least 14 1/2 years old The class cost does not include a $20 online fee (paid when you sign up online) Students should be ready to learn on their own using a computer After finishing the class, students will get a Blue E card. Drivers Education Scholarship ApplicationDrivers EducationScholarships are only available for the in-person classes. Cloquet Community Education is offering Drivers Education Scholarships to help students in need of financial assistance. These scholarships are made possible through funding provided by Carlton County Public Health and Human Services as part of the Opiate Settlement. Scholarship Details: Scholarships will cover 50% of the Drivers Education enrollment cost. Families will be responsible for the remaining $240 balance. The $240 must be paid prior to the start of the course. Scholarships are limited to three (3) students per section Scholarships are limited to Carlton County residents. Application Deadline August 15, 2026 – for the September class December 15, 2026 for the January class March 15, 2027 for the April class Please register for the specific Drivers Education Section that you want to enroll in Selection Process: If the number of applicants exceeds available scholarships, recipients will be randomly selected. Families may wait to register for the class until they are notified about scholarship awards. The drawing for the scholarships will occur after the deadlines. Additional Information: Unused scholarships will roll over to the next Drivers Education section. This scholarship program is funded by Carlton County Public Health and Human Services and administered by Cloquet Community Education. Please register the student for the application, not the parent. Dungeons & DragonsCloquet Middle SchoolEmbark on epic adventures in the Dungeons & Dragons Club! Whether you’re brand new to tabletop role-playing games or a seasoned adventurer, this club is the perfect place to roll dice, tell stories, and use your imagination. Players will learn the basics of character creation, storytelling, and cooperative gameplay while exploring fantasy worlds together. Each session offers opportunities to develop creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills—all while having a great time. No prior experience or materials are required; just bring your curiosity and sense of adventure! Everything will be provided! This class is open to students in grades 6-8. Students that receive educational benefits are able to receive a $15.00 scholarship towards the cost of this class. Early Childhood ScreeningThe state of Minnesota requires a health and developmental screening for students who are entering kindergarten or who participate in the following early learning programs: School Readiness, Voluntary Prekindergarten, SR Plus, and Early Learning Scholarships. If your child is between 3 and 4, now is the optimum age to be screened so children can then be referred to appropriate resources, if needed. If your child is entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2026, the August 2026 screening will be the last time in which you can schedule an appointment for your child. Next Screening Dates: August 25th, 26th and 27th Early Childhood Educators and a registered nurse conduct the screening. Screening is a quick and simple check of how a child is growing and developing. The Screening Includes: Hearing and Vision Height and Weight Social and emotional development Large and small muscles Thinking, language and communication skills A check of Immunization Records and Family Health Information. The screening process takes approximately 1- 1/2 hours during which time your child will separate from you. They will meet with the Early Childhood Educator to participate in a Developmental Screening. Your child will then have his/her vision and hearing checked by the nurse. Face YogaHealthThere are over 30 individual muscles on each side of your face, all of which can be strengthened and toned, just like arm or leg muscles. Facial exercises can take years off your appearance by reducing frown and forehead lines, reducing ‘puppet mouth’ lines, lifting and firming neckline, making upper and lower cheeks fuller, reduce puffiness and sagging around eyes, improve circulation and nutrient flow into cells and improve lymph circulation. Learn simple exercises that will rejuvenate your face. You will need a regular teaspoon for a few of the exercises and a little of your favorite facial moisturizer.
